Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the SavingsBox application. These terms govern your use of our services and constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SavingsBox, Inc.
1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using the SavingsBox mobile application or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use SavingsBox. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into these terms, and are a resident of the United States. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
3. Account registration
To use SavingsBox, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
4. Financial services
SavingsBox provides savings management tools and does not provide investment advice, banking services, or financial planning services. Our AI financial coach is for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional financial advice. All financial transactions are processed through our partners Stripe and Plaid. You are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds for any contributions or payments.
5. Savings boxes
Personal and group savings boxes are tools to help you organize your savings goals. Funds contributed to savings boxes are held by our financial infrastructure partner Stripe Treasury. Early closure of a savings box will result in a refund of your contributed amount to your wallet. Group savings boxes require agreement from all members for certain actions. We reserve the right to close savings boxes that violate our terms.
6. Fees and payments
SavingsBox offers a free tier and a premium subscription at $4.99 per month. Premium subscriptions are billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time. No refunds are provided for partial months. Payment processing fees may apply to certain transactions. We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.
7. Finance professionals
Finance professionals listed on SavingsBox are independent contractors and not employees of SavingsBox. SavingsBox does not endorse or guarantee the quality of services provided by finance professionals. You are responsible for evaluating the suitability of any finance professional for your needs. Appointment fees are set by individual professionals and are subject to their own terms.
8. Prohibited activities
You agree not to use SavingsBox for any unlawful purpose, to violate any regulations, to transmit any harmful or offensive content, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, to use our services for money laundering or fraud, or to impersonate any person or entity. Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination.
9. Intellectual property
SavingsBox and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by SavingsBox, Inc. and are protected by United States and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our services without our written permission.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SavingsBox shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without cause or notice. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. Any funds held in your wallet will be returned to your linked bank account within 5-7 business days. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.
12. Governing law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Franklin County, Ohio.
